I know, it’s an intriguing question, right? Perhaps you are both—smart and a smartass. But how can you really be so sure? Here are few helpful tips:

If you are smart, you make mistakes. Maybe you make a lot of mistakes, but you only make them once because you learn from them. If you are a smartass, you don’t make any mistakes because even the worst situations, including those you’ve caused, can be salvaged with glorious snark.

Example: You get pulled over for speeding. Which are you more likely to say to the officer?

A. “Hey, we both know that everyone speeds. I can’t help it if you were at the wrong place at the wrong time.”

B. “Yes. I was speeding. Totally my fault for being distracted by my particle astrophysics final. Ohmygod, I have no idea if I passed or not, because when they asked me how we know if dark matter exists or not, I totally wrote that we know because there is space between particles we can’t see and the universe is constantly expanding. I mean, if there is only a finite quantity of matter in the universe, and everything keeps growing, then what is filling up all that space? Yanno?”

If you answered A, you’re a smartass. If you answered B, you’re a smart Tass. If you answered both, then you are a smartass smart Tass, exactly like the heroine of my new book (and new OhellNo series!) SMART TASS.

She’s the brainy girl next door who thinks she’s got it all figured out. But when it comes to Hunter Johnson, her jerk-head of a neighbor who also happens to be the new, hot quarterback at her university, she’s not quite equipped to deal with the giant, cluster of emotions he serves up. Is it hate? Is it love? Or is it something else?
Tass isn’t sure, but she’s going to end the rivalry one way or another…

From New York Times Bestseller Mimi Jean Pamfiloff comes SMART TASS, a new Romantic Comedy.

He’s the hot college quarterback all the girls want.
She’s the smart girl he loves to pick on.
And now that they’re all grown up, things are about to get geekin’ ugly…

My name is Tass. I’m smart, I’m driven, and I am determined not to let prankster Hunter Johnson continue raining on my parade. When we were little, he’d pull my hair and call me names. When we were teenagers, he’d throw food and tease me for being a flat-chested virgin.
But now that we’ve ended up at the same college, he’s out of his hot head if he thinks he can keep messing with my life. It’s like he’s fixated on me or something. Well, guess what, Mr. Amazefootball? I’m not that geeky little girl anymore and you do not screw with a smart woman.
So what’s my plan?
It’s definitely wild, and he’s about to find out…
