1. THEY HATE SHARING.

It’s true! Little known fact but vampires really hate people touching their stuff. In the case of Michael Vanderhorst, the assistant librarian in my Librarian’s Vampire Assistant series, he’s especially touchy when it comes to books. He accredits this to his territorial nature, but whatever the case, it makes him a horrible library employee. He literally gets the heebie jeebies anytime he has to touch a used book.

2. THEY’RE UNRELIABLE WHEN IT COMES TO SCHEDULES.

It’s not that vampires aren’t punctual or can’t come out during the day (a myth), but most vampires live two lives—their human cover story life and their vampire life—and they have a lot going on behind the scenes.

For example, Michael is really the de facto vampire king, only masquerading as a college student who works part-time at Miriam’s library. He often finds himself in the middle of a murder or civil war, which makes keeping his human job a challenge.

3. THEY ARE DISTRACTING.

Just ask any librarian! There’s nothing more distracting than a hot, mysterious, muscular man walking around the library, flexing his muscles and putting away books. Add a bit of alpha maleness, and it’s a big, fat distraction cluster!

I personally don’t think Miriam, the librarian, knew what she was in for when she hired Michael, but boy did it change her life.

4. THEY PURPOSELY TRY TO SCARE CHILDREN DURING STORYTIME.

I don’t know about all vampires, but the ones I know, like Michael, pride themselves on being scary. They love feeling powerful, whether it’s driving big cars or having an army at their disposal. In the case of our assistant librarian, he’s been getting a little soft lately—perhaps due to a certain librarian he’s crushing on big time—which is throwing him off his game. He can’t seem to scare anyone, let alone a five year old.

5. THEIR FRIENDS POP BY UNANNOUNCED.

Yeah. Having vampires hanging around your library is no bueno. They tend to bring trouble and violence wherever they go. In Miriam’s case, it got her kidnapped. Now, it’s up to her trusty assistant to find her. Of course, it won’t be so easy. But what’s a vampire mystery/romance without some serious curveballs? Let’s just hope Michael gets to her in time.

And there you have it. All the reasons you should definitely stay away from hiring vampires as your assistant. Especially hot, possessive, muscular ones with an alpha male complex!

BUT DON’T JUST TAKE MY WORD FOR IT! Check out the latest, standalone installment of The Librarian’s Vampire Assistant!

Big Hugs!

Mimi

From New York Times Bestseller Mimi Jean Pamfiloff comes a snarky Mystery with a side dish of Romance and two sprinkles of chaos, THE LIBRARIAN’S VAMPIRE ASSISTANT, Book Four.

(Yep! These books are STANDALONES. But the more you read, the merrier!)

SHE’S MINE. BUT HAS SHE FORGOTTEN?

A crazy vampire has stolen my librarian. And if that’s not bad enough, it is my fault. Because I, too, am an ancient, deadly vampire, and it was my job to protect her. I failed.

Now, just as I have reason to hope I will get her back, the situation turns into the biggest mystery of my existence.

Apparently, this evil vampire has brainwashed her into thinking she belongs with him. I do not know how. I do not know why. But I will get to the bottom of this and win her back.

Because I am the motherf*!$%ing librarian’s vampire assistant, and she belongs to me. Or, at least she used to?
